My name is Jenni, and I’m trying to sort my way through my 20s. For those of you who have gone this far, or who are in the midst of it – you know that that statement alone is a loaded cannon.
I have always wanted to be a writer, and am very interested in writing books. However, up until I graduated college, my education sufficiently occupied any creative or lingustic talent I had. About a year after I graduated, I was in New Zealand and an amazing lecturer by the name of Patrick Dodson (he is blog rolled on the main page) encouraged us to “Do things that you used to love as a kid and have stopped doing since. Usually there is great strength and talent in those things.”
That was the first time that I had written for myself in probably 10 years. That was in 2006, and slowly I have been becoming more in touch with myself, not only as san individual and an adult, but as a writer. (I feel like I should be sitting in a coffee shop with a pair of stylish glasses on when I say that!)
My title “Cherry Blossom Thoughts” comes fromĀ dear friend of mine, Karoline, who lives in Germany. She was with me in New Zealand when I began to re-discover my love for writing. She has a Japanese style Cherry Blossom tattoo on one of her forearms, and sometimes in lecture she would draw me pictures of them. That time period in general was characterized by much emotion/spiritual freedom – freedom to dream big, be creative, be adventurous and all sorts of life changing realizations. “Cherry Blossom Freedom” was a phrase I had coined out of that first writing piece in New Zealand.
I hope my experiences and thoughts on those experiences are something that you can findĀ relateable and interesting. Thanks for reading!
Aw, I feel so humbled! You honour me with your love and friendship. Fond memories!!!
Alaways woman! I am eternally grateful for your inspiration!
